Start spreading the news. Something major is happening this November. NYSCRA is celebrating 150 years of stenographic excellence.

Officially organized on August 18, 1876, as the New York State Law Stenographers Association, it was founded by eight charter members dedicated to establishing high professional standards.

Join us as we celebrate the New York State Court Reporters Association (NYSCRA) as the first professional society of court reporters in American stenographic history.

Location: Nassau County Bar Association
Dates: November 13–15, 2026

This milestone event will bring together stenographers, captioners, students, and industry leaders for an unforgettable experience honoring our legacy while celebrating the future of our profession. Here’s what to expect:
Friday, Nov. 13: Kick things off with a Cocktail Mix & Mingle. Connect, celebrate, and set the tone for an incredible weekend.

Saturday, Nov. 14: Enjoy a full day of informative and exciting seminars plus on-site testing. Register for the Realtime Certified Reporter (RCR) test and contest to demonstrate your skills and excellence. (The RCR certification is recognized by the federal courts and eligible for salary increases.)

Sunday, Nov. 15: Register for the New York Association Certified Reporter (NYACR) test. Show up confident and ready to get certified!

The new NYSCRA Executive Board will be sworn in this weekend. It will be an inspiring occasion you won’t want to miss. Hotel information, registration details, and testing times are coming soon. For now, SAVE THE DATES, and get ready to be part of something unforgettable. Join us to celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going. It will be more than an event. Technology in Today’s New World – From Hybrid Depositions, Socially Distanced and Zepos and the Gizmos and Gadgets to Get you Through It

Presented by: Jessie Waack
Saturday, October 22, 2022
Live, Virtual via Zoom Meeting
7:00pm-8:30pm ET

Session Length: 90-minutes (.15 NCRA CEUs pending)
Price: $65 NYSCRA Member / $130 Non-Member / $20 Students

Session Description:
Today’s world is ever changing, and we need to be able to adjust with it.  It is scary navigating the world of microphones, sound cards and everything in between.  Join us to gain an understanding of how to troubleshoot your equipment and set up in any situation so you never have to turn down work again!  I will show you setups for hybrid depositions, socially distanced in-person and tweaks to make Zepos a dream!  Added bonus?  I will include the list of items and where to find them so you too can have a setup you have always dreamed about.

  1. Attendees can learn how to troubleshoot their own setups in lieu of having to waive off work because they cannot record audio

  2. Attendees can learn how to take things they do in 5 steps and break it down into one or two, which leads to less mistakes being made when setting up equipment

  3. Attendees can learn how to make their own formats and setups for worksheets instead of printing and carrying paper with them everywhere

This session will be recorded. Be on the lookout for the link to purchase the recording a few days after the session. Please note, the recorded session will NOT be eligible for CEU points.
