All five parts of the skills examination must be passed to attain the NYACR credential. 

Written Knowledge Test
Legal Terminology: 20 multiple-choice questions on basic law, legal procedures, and terminology
English Terminology: 40 multiple-choice questions on spelling, word usage, vocabulary, and punctuation

Skills Test
200 wpm – 4-voice testimony: 7 minutes, 95% accuracy (max 70 errors)
175 wpm – 2-voice medical Q&A: 5 minutes, 95% accuracy (max 43 errors)
175 wpm – Jury Charge: 4 minutes, 95% accuracy (max 35 errors)
